What is walter jenkins?

Walter Jenkins was an American political figure who served as a top aide and confidante to President Lyndon B. Johnson. Born in 1918 in Texas, Jenkins began his career working for Johnson when he was still a congressman. He went on to serve as a key advisor during Johnson's years as Vice President and President.

Jenkins was known for his loyalty to Johnson and played a significant role in shaping and implementing the President's policies. However, his political career was overshadowed by a scandal in 1964 when he was arrested for engaging in homosexual acts in a public restroom in Washington, D.C.

Despite the scandal, Jenkins remained a trusted advisor to Johnson until his resignation in 1966. After leaving the White House, he worked as a lobbyist and consultant. Jenkins passed away in 1985 at the age of 67.
